There is a Master in Japan, Kurumaya Masaaki, spokesman and representative of the traditional Taiko’s Mitsuuchi style, who teaches to those people who wish to follow the TaikoDo, to those who aspire to Taiko origin and who want learning the true meaning about it.

His meeting with Taiko was in 1969 at the age of 18 years, after having studied jazz and traditional Japanese music.
After thirty years of study, teaching and performing experience on stage, in 2000 he opened the Kurumaya Taiko Dojo.
Since then he dedicated himself to his students who come from all over the world and to perform as professional concert artist. Besides in Japan, Master Kurumaya has played in France, Great Britain, Germany, China, United States and Italy.
In June 2007 he accompanied on stage the group KyoShinDo on its debut, beginning an artistic relationship that takes place every year.
Kurumaya Masaaki’s Taiko concerts are moving and not to be missed performances: the Japanese percussion’s power, dynamism and energy expressed with gestures, the sound’s excellence and harmony among artists ravish the audience into a higher dimension.
